Why I Do What I Do.

The other day Friday, I sold my first piece of art. I thought decent it's a cool way to make cash, but when I saw how happy the buyer was, it made me see art in a whole different view. I didn't feel like I was good enough to do something that would move someone like that.

So I had the photo below in my school's art Gala, and was contacted via facebook by someone who was interested in the photo, but didn't have the money for it that night. I had moved it on to another Gallery showing, so I told her if she was still interested to go down there. By the time she found the gallery, they said they no longer had the photo. Later that day, the gallery contacted me saying they had found the photo and someone was in looking for it. I contacted the potential buyer via FB again, and yes she was interested in buying still, about three months after she first saw it. We made arrangements, and I dropped it off at her salon on Friday.

When I came in with the photo she seriously did a little excited hop, and showed it to everyone in the salon. I haven't seen anyone that excited for a piece of art ever. So I was really excited, considering I never really liked the photo in the first place, and to see her reaction made me realize how important what I do is, and how much it actually means to people.
